U of G Welcomes International English Language Students
Staff in the English language program at U of G welcome international students to the English language certificate program and graduate preparation diploma program. Orientation begins at 10 a.m. from Sept. 2 to 4. Classes begin Sept. 8. Time: 10 a.m. Location: Johnston Hall, OpenEd, Room 160
Residence Move-in Day
About 4,000 first-year students will move into residence and begin their university experience Move-in takes place across campus and spans the entire day.
Arboretum Plant Sale
The Arboretum is hosting its annual plant sale, featuring a wide variety of trees, shrubs and perennials. All plants are grown and cared for by Arboretum Auxiliary members in the Arboretum's nursery and greenhouse. All sale proceeds help with the ongoing maintenance and development of the Arboretum.
Naomi Klein Talk at U of G
The College of Arts, the College of Biological Science and the Eden Mills Writers' Festival present a talk by Naomi Klein, titled "This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate." New-York based global music ensemble Banda Magda brings their vibrant songs and stories to the University of Guelph. South American rhythm creates the pulse of this energizing group of friends who sing in five different languages in a mix of colour and sound. Landscape architecture (LA) graduates and their families are invited to a weekend celebration of 50 years of landscape architecture at the University of Guelph.
Homecoming 2015
The Guelph Gryphons will face rival McMaster Marauders on Sept. 19, 1 p.m., at Alumni Stadium in the annual University of Guelph Homecoming Game. The traditional alumni football game, the Glory Bowl, will take place at 10 a.m. For the Gryphons’ match against McMaster, stadium gates will open at 11 a.m. The event will include
International Development Studies Speaker Event
Des Gasper will give a talk on "Impacts on Health and Mortality of Climate Change and the Ethical Implications." He is a professor of human development, development ethics and public policy at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague. Location: MacKinnon Building, Room 230

United Way Kick-Off Barbecue
All proceeds from the sale of food and beverages at the United Way campaign's kick-off barbecue will go to the United Way. President Franco Vaccarino will announce U of G’s 2015 United Way fundraising goal in Branion Plaza at noon. The barbecue runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
