College of Biological Science ecologist Dr. Shoshanah Jacobs explored how discarded personal protective equipment (PPE) from the pandemic, like disposable masks, is impacting wildlife and how the litter could be minimized in a Conversation Canada commentary.

The article appeared in dozens of publications, including the National Post and was co-written with U of G grads Justine Ammendolia and Jackie Saturno.
