Dr. Ann Pegoraro, the Lang Chair of Sport Management in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, lent her thoughts to The Globe and Mail on what kind of league models the Canadian women’s hockey team could see.
Pegoraro said she hopes the players keep an open mind when it comes to new business models, and are willing to focus on centralized competitions, investing in digital disruption, top broadcast equipment, and streaming.
The director of the International Institute for Sport Business and Leadership, Pegoraro researches gender equity, sport consumers, marketing and communication and is also the co-director of the National Network for Research on Gender Equity in Canadian Sport.
