The Board of Governors has endorsed and approved the reappointment of Charlotte Yates to a second five-year term as provost and vice-president (academic) at the University of Guelph. The announcement was made today by president Franco Vaccarino.
The decision follows an extensive review and subsequent recommendation put forward by a committee of faculty, staff, students and B of G members, led by Vaccarino, with final approval from the University’s Board of Governors.
The review committee and U of G community members noted Yates’s leadership, management skills, and strategic thinking and vision. She was recognized for negotiating the University’s Strategic Mandate Agreement with the provincial government, encouraging academic innovation and student success and improving U of G’s global presence.
During her second term, Yates plans to continue building on the University’s successful operational and strategic efforts with government to continue to advance its mission.
In making the announcement, Vaccarino thanked members of the review committee for their work and the University community for its input.
