U of G is accepting nominations for various positions on the University’s Senate and Board of Governors now until Feb. 12. For a list of vacancies, please visit the University Secretariat website.

The Senate and Board of Governors are the two highest governing bodies at U of G and members of both bodies help to shape the future direction of our University. This is a great opportunity for faculty, staff and students to play an integral role in ensuring the University’s resources and services are stewarded responsibly.

How to Apply

To nominate a faculty member, staff or student for an open position, please complete the nomination form available on the University Secretariat website.

The deadline to submit nominations is 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12.

About Senate

The Senate deals mainly with matters of academic policy such as academic misconduct, creating and closing programs, quality assurance, research and University honours and awards. The Senate also elects the Chancellor and meets five times a year.

About Board of Governors

The Board of Governors deals with a wide range of matters including approving the budget, tuition rates, major renovations, new buildings and hiring the University’s president and meets four times a year.
