During Holocaust Education Week (Jan. 22 to 26), Guelph Hillel invites the U of G community to learn more about the Holocaust, combat antisemitism and hate, and make time for reflection so that a similar tragedy never happens again. 

The week-long educational campaign aims consists of events that enable students to hear from the perspective of a Holocaust survivor, learn about stories of children in the Holocaust, virtually tour Auschwitz, enjoy a Shabbat dinner and engage with Guelph Hillel.  

Events to mark Holocaust Education Week 

  • Live Virtual Tour of Auschwitz with Q&A 
    • Monday, Jan. 22, 11 a.m. (Virtual) 
  • Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony 
    • Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1 p.m. (University Centre Courtyard) 
  • Yad Vashem Poster Exhibit
    The Yad Vashem pop-up exhibit shares stories of children in the Holocaust. The exhibit will include a resource table led by Hillel students and staff who are available to answer questions, provide more information, and hand out free memoirs to those who attend.

  • Virtual Survivor Testimony with Pinchas Gutter 
    • Thursday, Jan. 25, 7 p.m. (Virtual)
