Dr. Hassan Khan, computer science professor in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, will appear on an episode of CBC Marketplace.
Khan will appear in a report examining the security risks of bringing a cellphone or other electronic device in for repair.
Khan, who researches computer security and human-computer interaction, recently led a study that found customers who send electronic devices sent in for repair are at high risk of privacy violations. The study was the first holistic view of customer privacy in the electronics repair industry in North America and the findings were presented at the 44th IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy in San Francisco.
Marketplace airs on CBC Television on Fridays at 8 p.m., 8:30 in Newfoundland and Labrador. The episode will also be available to stream on CBC Gem.
