Dr. Samantha Brennan, dean of the College of Arts, spoke to The Globe and Mail in the aftermath of the June 28 stabbings at the University of Waterloo.

Joining other Canadian academics and instructors who teach gender and sexuality studies, Brennan echoed their thoughts saying universities need to stand up and support faculty in this field.

“As an administrator, I need to let them know I have their backs,” she said.

Brennan is a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy whose research interests include contemporary normative ethics, applied ethics and feminist philosophy.
