Dr. Scott Krayenhoff, an atmospheric scientist with the Ontario Agricultural College, spoke with The Weather Network about new research he worked on that showed how blackouts during heat waves increase the number of emergency room visits and deaths. 

Krayenhoff explained the research and discussed some solutions that are being investigated.

A professor in the School of Environmental Sciences, Krayenhoff studies the effects of urban and rural development on local climates through computer modelling.
