Dr. Katie Lebel, a sports business researcher in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, appeared on CBC’s The National to discuss the new rules announced this week for Canada Soccer that will require the organization to undergo a financial audit and a governance review, among other new steps.

Lebel said the changes will bring about more transparency for the soccer body and were “long overdue.” 

A professor in the Department of Management, Lebel researches gender equity, sport fandom, marketing and communications. She is an affiliated scholar at the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport and a member of the National Network for Research on Gender Equity in Canadian Sport.
