Dr. Nita Chhinzer, an organizational management professor in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, discussed the concept of “quiet hiring” with CTV News Toronto

“Quiet hiring” refers to an organization looking internally to find people it wants to promote. Chhinzer said the practice is common but comes with risks for employees. 

A professor in the Department of Management, Chhinzer researches strategic human resources management procedures and ethics.
