Epidemiologist Dr. Katie Clow, a professor in the Ontario Veterinary College, discussed why people should be wary of ticks on pets even in winter with Cottage Life.

“If it’s above freezing, we should be thinking about ticks,” Clow said before giving advice on how to remove a tick and identify the species.

A professor in the Department of Population Medicine, Clow researches the epidemiology of vector-borne and zoonotic diseases with One Health and specializes in tick-borne diseases. Clow is also the graduate coordinator for the collaborative specialization in One Health.
