Dr. Jackie Goordial, an environmental microbiologist at the Ontario Agricultural College, discussed the probability of life on Mars with National Geographic.

Goordial commented on a study examining whether Mars may be once been habitable to life.

A professor in the School of Environmental Studies and a CIFAR (Canadian Institute for Applied Research) Azrieli Global Scholar, Goordial studies how microorganisms maintain diversity and survive at sub-zero temperatures in permafrost in the Canadian Arctic as well as how warming temperatures may lead to greenhouse gas release.
