At the start of the pandemic, “CareMongering” groups began to pop up, aiming to provide support to members throughout the pandemic, and some have since remained successful. Social practice and transformational change PhD student Amy Kipp told CBC Kitchener-Waterloo that isn’t surprising.
Kipp said “CareMongering” groups serve an important purpose, while also noting that “longer term structural change is needed to ensure that people aren’t having to only rely on each other in order to have their care needs met.”
