Feral hogs are problematic for Ontario pig farmers. Wildlife pathologist Dr. Brian Stevens spoke to Global News about how feral hogs carry diseases, bacteria and parasites, some infectious to both humans and pigs.  

If pigs become infected, he said, not only is there a high mortality rate, but also devasting effects on the pork industry.  

Stevens works with the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative, based out of the Ontario Veterinary College.
