Food scientist Dr. Lawrence Goodridge, spoke to CTV Kitchener, about how buffet-style restaurants can re-open safely.
Emphasizing that there’s no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-10 can be spread through food, Goodridge said he would emphasize social distancing at the restaurants. He also said people shouldn’t be too concerned about contracting COVID-19 by touching utensils.
Goodridge is the Leung Family Professor in Food Safety at the Canadian Research Institute for Food Safety and pursues interdisciplinary research on food-borne pathogens, antibiotic resistance and food fraud.
