The long-running PBS science television program NOVA spoke to U of G engineering professors Drs. Amar Mohanty and Manjusri Misra for an article examining whether bioplastics could one day replace petroplastics.
Mohanty, who is cross-appointed to the Department of Plant Agriculture, has pioneered the development of sustainable bio-based materials. He is director of U of G’s Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre (BDDC) and holds the OAC Distinguished Research Chair in Sustainable Biomaterials.
Misra is the co-principal of the BDDC and holds the Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Biocomposites.
