Dr. Evan Fraser, director of U of G’s Arrell Food Institute, co-wrote an opinion piece for the Hill Times with Deb Stark, former deputy minister of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
They wrote that Canada is well-positioned to take a leadership role at the United Nations Food Systems Summit, due to be held this fall. It’s also a good opportunity for Canada to set its own global goals to reduce world hunger.
Fraser holds the Canada Research Chair in Global Food Security and studies food security, food prices, rural agricultural policy and how each is affected by climate change.
