Dear members of the U of G community,
In the last few weeks, the University of Guelph has had to make changes and adapt — and we have had to do it faster than many of us thought possible. Our community’s ability to adjust and our resiliency has truly amazed me.
Yesterday we made the difficult decision to not hold our June convocation ceremony. Please know that our graduating students will still have an opportunity to cross the stage and we are putting plans in place for a rescheduled convocation ceremony in the fall. As such, this is really a postponement of this spring’s ceremony. I filmed a short video from my home office today with a message to our community regarding convocation.
We know how important and deeply meaningful convocation is to our students, their friends and families, and to our entire University of Guelph community. All updates about convocation and graduation are available at www.uoguelph.ca/convocation.

Our Gryphon family is strong. We have overcome so much together in the past month and we will emerge from this more united than ever before. On behalf of the entire U of G community, congratulations to our graduating students for everything you have achieved thus far. We look forward to celebrating with you when the time is right.
Sincerely,
Franco Vaccarino
President and Vice-Chancellor
