The University of Guelph was recognized last week by Forbes magazine as one of the best Canadian universities to work for. Of the universities included in the list, U of G placed sixth.
“It is wonderful to see U of G recognized on such a prestigious list,” says Martha Harley, associate vice-president (human resources). “The University is committed to being an employer of choice and creating a supporting and engaging workplace. I am happy to see that our employees are speaking highly of their experiences here.”
To compile the list, Forbes surveyed 8,000 Canadians who work full- or part-time for businesses with at least 500 employees.
Employees were consulted anonymously through several online panels organized by the magazine.
For the ranking, the magazine asked whether employees would recommend their own employer to families and friends. Employees were also asked whether they would or would not recommend other employers in their industry. The 300 companies with the best scores were included in the Forbes Best Canadian Employers list.
