The candidate brief for the University of Guelph’s ninth president and vice-chancellor has been finalized and is available on the presidential search website. The brief reflects the input of over 3,000 members of the University community who engaged with the Presidential Selection Committee through surveys, e-mails and in-person meetings.

As the committee moves towards considering and interviewing candidates, the brief will be used as one of its key recruitment tools. It provides prospective candidates with a snapshot of the University, an overview of the role of the president and vice-chancellor and a summary of the key qualifications for the position.

The opportunity is now being widely advertised and the committee will begin confidentially reviewing candidates in the new year. The committee will then recommend a presidential candidate to the board of governors. Under the University of Guelph Act, the board is responsible for appointing the president.

It is anticipated that the University’s next president and vice-chancellor will be named in the spring.

Members of the University community are welcome to reach out to the Presidential Selection Committee with questions or feedback through its confidential e-mail address: universityappts@uoguelph.ca
