During winter weather, be in the know! If the University needs to close because of a winter storm, a message will be posted to the following sources:

If the University decides before normal working hours to close because of bad weather or a critical incident, every effort will be made to communicate that decision by 6 a.m. The University’s main phone line – 519-824-4120 – will also have a recorded message about the closure.
Snow removal for accessibility
U of G’s Physical Resources team works to make sure everyone can access University facilities safely and easily during the winter.
If you need help to deal with a snowy area on campus, use the contact information below:
- Suggestions – Share your general concerns or feedback related to snow removal. Send an email to snow@pr.uoguelph.ca.
- Non-emergency – Persons with accessibility needs can get immediate assistance with snow-covered areas. Call 519-993-HELP (4357).
- Emergency – Contact emergency services if there is imminent risk of critical harm to you or someone else. Call ext. 52000 or 519-840-5000 or 911.
