Prof. John Walsh, vice-provost of the University of Guelph-Humber, will complete his third term June 30, 2020.

Following an administrative leave, John plans to rejoin the Department of Management as a professor in U of G’s Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics.

The announcement was made today by Charlotte Yates, the University of Guelph’s provost and vice-president (academic), and Laurie Rancourt, senior vice-president (academic) of Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.

“John has played a fundamental role in making Guelph-Humber a student-focused and industry-supported success,” Yates said.

Rancourt added: “John’s dedication and commitment has been unwavering. He has helped ensure that our students are provided with an unparalleled education and work-integrated learning experiences.”

Before his appointment as vice-provost professor Walsh was associate dean of U of G’s Faculty of Management and director of the former School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

An interim vice-provost will be appointed following Walsh’s departure while the institutions continue developing a new strategic plan.
