Dana McCauley

Dana McCauley, associate director of new venture creation at the University of Guelph’s Research Innovation Office, joined a panel discussion on TVO‘s The Agenda to discuss the surge of consumer interest in plant-based meat alternatives.

McCauley, who studies food industry trends and innovation, explained what makes these new plant-based meats different from standard veggie burgers. She also explained why these new products interest consumers and why they are likely not just a fad.

As part of her work in New Venture Creation, McCauley helps Canada’s agri-food researchers to transform their ideas and discoveries into commercial and profitable products that fulfill unmet consumer needs.
