The University of Guelph remains open and classes will proceed as scheduled. We will continue to monitor weather and road conditions.
The decision to remain open is based on a variety of factors, including the most recent weather and road information as well as the availability of public transportation.
City of Guelph, GO Transit and Greyhound buses are operating. Please exercise caution when travelling to and from campus, and use public transportation when possible.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to put personal safety first and use their discretion when deciding whether to come to campus.
When a winter storm hits and you need to know whether the University is open, the best information sources are:
- U of G Alert – sign up to receive email, phone or text message alerts from our Critical Incident Notification System
- www.uoguelph.ca
- local radio
- Twitter: @uofg
- Facebook: /uofguelph
A message will be posted if the University closes.
If the decision is made to close the University because of bad weather or a critical incident before normal business hours, that news will normally be communicated by 6 a.m. through a bulletin on this website. The information will also be communicated through local and social media and U of G Alert.
The campus phone system will also have a recorded message.
More information is available online in the University’s Hazardous Weather/Emergency Closing Procedures.
