Prof. Christine Baes was interviewed in The Atlantic about new technologies for growing larger turkeys faster.

A professor in U of G’s Department of Animal Biosciences, Baes discussed the benefits and drawbacks of new breeding technologies. She discussed economic and environmental impacts as well as how new technologies could impact birds from an animal welfare standpoint.

Baes studies applied animal breeding, including quantitative genetics and the analysis and development of methods for next-generation sequencing data.
