A new survey exploring the protein consumption habits of Canadians is making headlines with stories appearing in the National Post, and on CBC News and CTV News.

Prof. Simon Somogyi, Arrell Chair in the Business of Food at U of G’s Arrell Food Institute, collaborated with researchers at Dalhousie University on a study that found that 6.4 million Canadians have already restricted or eliminated meat from their diets, while one-third of the population intends to do so in the next six months.

Somogyi, a faculty member in the College of Business and Economics, studies agri-food value chains, food business sustainability and international market development.
