The University of Guelph’s plan for making gender equity salary adjustments for faculty is grabbing national media headlines.

Charlotte Yates, provost and vice-president (academic), announced Tuesday that all full-time faculty members who identify as women or as non-male will receive across-the-board salary increases.

A Canadian Press story about the U of G initiative was published by the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, National Post, Huffington Post, CBC, CTV and other media outlets nationwide.

U of G’s announcement follows a salary anomaly review that was part of the multi-phase GenEQ initiative, launched by Yates last spring. The project brings together community members from across the University to discuss and shape gender equity at U of G. More information
