U of G Prof. Sean Lyons was interviewed for a May 9 Global News story about a U.K.-based think tank’s proposal that every millennial be given the equivalent of $17,000 to spend on improving their skills, saving to buy a home or starting a business.
A professor in the Department of Management, Lyons said education costs cannot be covered by giving millennials a lump sum. He talked about the financial challenges facing millennials, including tuition costs and student loan debt, and possible solutions.
Lyons researches young workers’ career expectations and development, millennials and generational differences in the workplace.
