Prof. Andrew Hathaway headshotProf. Andrew Hathaway appeared in a March 19 National Post story about what will happen to illegal cannabis dealers’ businesses after the Canadian government legalizes marijuana this summer.

A professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Hathaway talked about how the government monopoly on selling marijuana might still leave gaps for a black market in cannabis. He compared the government’s proposed business models, pricing and services with those currently offered by illegal drug dealers.

Hathaway researches illicit drug use, harm reduction, human rights and Canadian drug policy.
