Prof. Gregoy StillProf. Grégoy Bédécarrats was interviewed by CBC News for a story about a hen in B.C. that is producing eggs that contain other eggs.

A professor in the Department of Animal Biosciences, Bédécarrats told CBC News that the phenomenon is normal but rare. He said it’s likely caused by the hen’s genetics affecting its egg-formation cycle.

Bédécarrats examines ways to improve the reproductive efficiency of domestic birds and to better balance production parameters, health, welfare and the environment.
