Prof. Emma Allen-VercoeProf. Emma Allen-Vercoe was interviewed by CBC’s The Current on Feb. 27 about fecal microbiota transplants.

A professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Allen-Vercoe talked about her research in U of G’s Robogut lab and how she creates microbes from the human gut. She explained she’s hoping that one day her work will help eliminate the need for human donors, which are currently being used in fecal microbiota transplants.

Allen-Vercoe studies normal human gut microflora, both in disease and in health.
