Prof. Gary Ellis was interviewed in a Feb. 6 Toronto Star story examining links between an abandoned Toronto police operation and the ongoing investigation into alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur.

Ellis, head of the University of Guelph-Humber’s justice studies program, talked about how police services can be challenged by competing resources when investigating various major incidents in Toronto. He said the days when two detectives go out to solve a case are gone; police investigations today are incredibly resource-intensive.

A former Toronto Police superintendent, Ellis researches justice and policing, crisis communications and organizational change.
