Profs. Ryan Norris and Andrew McAdam, Department of Integrative Biology, will be featured on the popular CBC program The Nature of Things Sunday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m.
The two participated in a documentary hosted by David Suzuki that explores the secret lives of trees and creatures in the boreal forest.
“What Trees Talk About” looks at how the last great forest shapes the lives of the plants and animals within it and across the world. Norris will discuss gray jays and McAdam will talk about squirrels.
The documentary will be available online beginning Friday Nov. 24 at 5 p.m.
Norris studies the behaviour, population dynamics, conservation and evolution of migratory animals. He looks at the effects of climate change and habitat loss on animal populations in temperate and tropical areas.
McAdam researches evolutionary change in natural populations, including genetic and environmental constraints on adaptation. He is also interested in the evolutionary consequences of social interactions.
