Could a traveling orange couch be your next business adviser? Drop by the Thornbrough Building today from noon to 4 p.m. to find out.
The Centre for Business and Student Enterprise (CBaSE) is spreading the word that business knowledge is relevant – and valuable – to all students. As part of its new CBaSE Couch initiative, the CBaSE team has created a comfortable and open environment where students can ask questions about CBaSE services and learn about the value of education in business and entrepreneurship. The travelling living room-style entrepreneurial pop-up space can be found in different locations across campus every three weeks, offering students the chance to speak with members of the CBaSE team.
In addition to providing a space for open conversation and inquiry, the CBaSE Couch is a physical reminder that business is everywhere, and that everyone, regardless of their area of study, is a participant. This is a key message that CBaSE has been promoting since its launch in 2009. The centre now offers a suite of innovative services, events and educational opportunities relevant to current students, alumni, faculty and organizations. It also acts as a key conduit between the College of Business and Economics and the local business community.
