Prof. Keith Warriner, Food Science, was featured in a story on food waste by CBC’s Marketplace Oct. 30. Warriner said some foods are okay to eat after their best-before dates, while others are more risky. He said freezing is an effective way to store foods so long as consumers remember them in the freezer. Warriner studies food safety, pathogens and fresh produce.
