Prof. Keith Warriner, Food Science, wrote an op-ed column in the Toronto Sun Oct. 2 on a court case involving an animal rights activist giving water to pigs in a truck. Warriner said pork production in Ontario must continue to be a closed system with food safety protocols in place. Past-president of the Ontario Food Protection Association, he studies food safety in the meat processing and fresh-cut sectors.
