Prof. Robert Hanner, Integrative Biology, and Amanda Naaum, a post-doctoral researcher at U of G’s Biodiversity Institute of Ontario, were featured in a July 26 Globe and Mail article on mislabelling and food fraud. In the article, Hanner, who is also the associate director of the Canadian Barcode of Life Network, says that mislabelling fish can pose health risks. The story also mentions Naaum’s use of DNA barcoding to identify types of fish.
