Lawrence MacAulay, minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, visited the University of Guelph today for roundtable discussions on innovation in agriculture and women in agriculture.

“The Guelph region is a major contributor to Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector, and the University of Guelph plays an important role in this unique ecosystem,” said Daniel Atlin, vice-president (external).

Atlin and other U of G officials including Malcolm Campbell, vice-president (research), were invited to participate in both roundtables, which included stakeholders from the agriculture and agri-food sector.

MacAulay is talking with agricultural sector members about a pending policy framework intended to shape policy and programs.
