Master of fine arts candidate Julie Mannell wrote a fictional story in the Toronto Star July 2. Mannell wrote about Evelyn Dick, who was charged in high-profile murder trials in the 1940s and convicted in one trial. This is one of a series of local true crime stories re-imagined by fiction writers. Mannell is a creative writing student who has written for Huffington Post, Branch Magazine and the National Post.
