The University of Guelph today became a full partner in Mitacs, a non-profit national organization that fosters collaboration between academia and industry.

Mitacs works with 60 universities and thousands of companies across Canada, developing partnerships that support industrial and social innovation. The organization has designed and delivered research and training programs for 16 years.

“There is great power in working together, which is why we are delighted to be joining Mitacs,” said Malcolm Campbell, vice-president (research).

“The University of Guelph already excels at creating productive partnerships with industry, government and the non-profit sectors to turn knowledge into action. Joining Mitacs gives us the tools to do even more.”

Mitacs programs are funded by federal and provincial governments. The organization has international partnerships with 10 countries.
