Prof. Evan Fraser, Geography, and Malcolm Campbell, vice-president (research), wrote an op-ed column in The Hill Times June 13. They discuss the potential for climate change to affect farmers, and what this could mean for Canada’s agricultural sector. Fraser and Campbell write that we need to foster innovation in the agri-food sector, helping farmers to meet environmental challenges and feed a growing population. Fraser studies global food security and is the founder of feedingninebillion.com. Campbell studies how to optimize plant growth and development relative to prevailing environment conditions.
