Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) research into cancer in pets was the subject of a Canadian Press story May 10. It was featured in the Toronto Star, CTV News, City News, the Ottawa Citizen, Metro News and other publications. The story looked at OVC research into osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in dogs and breast cancer in cats. Profs. Paul Woods, Clinical Studies, and Byram Bridle, Pathobiology, said they hope their studies will lead to new treatments for these diseases in people. Woods studies comparative oncology and cancer treatment in companion animals, and Bridle researches oncolytic virotherapy and cancer immunotherapy.
