Prof. Madhur Anand, School of Environmental Sciences (SES), has been appointed interim director of the Waterloo Institute for Complexity and Innovation (WICI), based at the University of Waterloo.

Beginning September 1, her appointment will last until August 31, 2016.

An ecologist and a poet, Anand is an expert in complex modelling and analysis.

WICI will co-sponsor a sustainability symposium with SES on human-environment systems next spring.

“WICI’s research areas are exciting and have global reach. I hope to strengthen the research relationships between these institutions and foster greater graduate student participation,” Anand said.
