A few seconds is all it takes to vote for the People’s Choice winner of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition – less time than it took for them to present their research.

The annual event invites graduate students to explain their research in three minutes or less to a panel of non-expert judges. Meghan Yip, a master’s student in human health and nutritional science, won the U of G round and $1,000 for her presentation on how skin on top of the foot affects balance. Her adviser is Prof. Leah Bent.
