The Gryphon women’s curling team won bronze on home ice at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) curling championships held Feb. 19-23 at the Guelph Curling Club. The podium finish earns skip Katelyn Wasylkiw, vice Jestyn Murphy, second Emily Walsh and lead Heather Cridland a spot in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) championships in March.

The curling bronze adds to the Gryphons’ varsity medal count, which also includes medals in figure skating, wrestling and swimming.

Earlier this month the Gryphon figure skating team won silver in the OUA championships, and the women’s wrestling team earned OUA bronze. The women’s swimming team also finished third in the OUA, and later at the CIS championships, swimmer Evan Van Moerkerke won silver in the 100-metre freestyle.
