Users of campus WiFi are being encouraged to switch to the secure network, uog-wifi-secure, starting Oct. 2. Computing and Communications Services (CCS) is making changes to campus WiFi networks to encourage people to make the switch.

As a result of these changes, bandwidth for the secure network will double, providing users with an enhanced WiFi experience.

Bandwidth for the non-secure network, uog-wifi, will be reduced, resulting in slower performance and requiring users to log-in more frequently.

The non-secure network will be shut down following exams in December; it will be repurposed and rebranded to provide guest access. All campus users will be required to use the secure network, uog-wifi-secure.

Instructions on how to switch to secure WiFi can be found on the CCS webpage. If you need assistance, contact the CCS Help Centre at Ext. 58888 or 58888help@uoguelph.ca.
