As part of a campus-wide phone system upgrade, the following telephony services will be unavailable April 26:

– Essential telephony services, including inbound and outbound calls, auto attendant, call centre queues and after-hours greetings will be unavailable from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m.

– Non-essential telephony services, including speech attendant and lab services paging will be unavailable until the evening of April 27.

The start time for the upgrade depends on the completion of the annual power shutdown exercise by Physical Resources.

When the phone system is offline, a back-up phone system will accept and re-route calls to the University’s main number to a team of operators who will redirect emergency calls.

All other campus systems, such as servers and websites will not be affected. The CCS team managing the upgrade is working directly with departments that are most impacted (Campus Police, Ontario Veterinary College, Lab Services and Physical Resources).

The OVC Health Sciences Centre answering service will be available; to contact a veterinary hospital, clinic or the ruminant field service, call 1-877-682-3637.
