How will the world feed its projected global population of nine billion people by 2050? Geography professor Evan Fraser and a group of graduate students have produced a series of new videos to spark discussions on this complex topic.

The new videos build on one they produced in 20102 that has been watched almost 50,000 times. That video and the Feeding Nine Billion project were featured in an earlier At Guelph story.

Topics covered in the new video series are: the role of science and technology in promoting a more sustainable food systems; local food; government regulations; and distribution systems.

The first video was released today on www.feedingninebillion.com. The remaining three will be posted on Jan. 22, and Feb. 5 and 19.

Evans is the holder of the Canada Research Chair in Global Food Security.
