The University community is invited to explore REDLAB, a multimedia studio and expressive arts institute, during its official launch Oct. 17.

The Re-visioning Differences Media Arts Laboratory (REDLAB) is directed by Prof. Carla Rice, Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, who holds the Canada Research Chair in Care, Gender and Relationships. The lab, located at 103 Blackwood Hall on Trent Lane, is focused on arts-informed research to create opportunities for communities marginalized by misconceptions by transforming stereotypes, advancing social inclusion, and improving health equity.

The launch celebration, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., is an opportunity for faculty, students, and staff to learn more about REDLAB and to explore digital storytelling as a research method and/or knowledge translation tool in communication action and activism.
